DigiPlay: Empowering Sports through Digital
November 2024 – May 2026
Built on a strong consortium of leaders from Hungary, Italy, and Croatia, the Budapest Association for International Sports (BAIS) leads this sports initiative. The project aims to leverage digital transformation to enhance sports organizations and inspire young people, particularly those from grassroots communities, to adopt healthier lifestyles and embrace digital tools within the field of sports.
Project Overview
The DigiPlay project was born from the need to bridge the digital divide in sports, particularly among small and less experienced organizations. Over 18 months, DigiPlay will train representatives from sports and youth organizations in digital competencies for sports management, marketing, and event organization. The flagship of DigiPlay is a multilingual toolkit designed to support digital transformation across Europe.
Objectives
The key objectives of DigiPlay include:
● Training over 50 representatives in digital skills related to sports management and marketing.
●Developing the DigiPlay Toolkit featuring best practices, case studies, and actionable templates.
●Hosting 9 Virtual Sports Challenges with 150 participants to showcase the possibilities of digital tools.
●Promoting mental health and well-being through digital engagement.
●Enhancing inclusion and accessibility in sports, with a focus on underrepresented groups.
Key Activities
● Training Programs: Workshops and webinars focused on the application of digital tools in sports organizations.
●Toolkit Development: A comprehensive package on digital skills, available in English, Hungarian, Italian, and Croatian.
●Virtual Sports Challenges: Online events demonstrating innovative uses of digital platforms in sports.
●Dissemination and Sustainability Efforts: Outreach campaigns and a closing seminar to present results and ensure lasting impact.
