"Play a-broad" Youth Exchange: Our Participants' Testimonials

Every Erasmus+ project leaves behind more than just photos and schedules - it creates memories, friendships, and personal growth that stay with participants long after the exchange ends. After the “Play a-broad” youth exchange in France - organized by ESN Besançon, - participants sent by BAIS shared their thoughts and experiences, reflecting on the impact the project had on them.

  1. Testimonial:

Participating in the "Play A Board" Erasmus+ project in France was a very special experience for me because it was my first Erasmus+ event. At first, I was nervous about meeting new people from different countries, but the environment was so friendly and welcoming that I quickly felt comfortable. I really enjoyed the activities, conversations, and the moments we shared together as a group. The project helped me become more confident, improve my communication skills, and create unforgettable memories with amazing people. This experience motivated me to take part in more international projects in the future.

  1. Testimonial:

The “Play a broad” youth exchange was a truly meaningful and enriching experience for me. It brought together young people from different countries and created a space where we could connect through games, even without speaking the same language. This helped me realize how powerful non-verbal communication and shared activities can be in building understanding between cultures.

During the programme, I took part in various activities such as group games, cooking workshops, and intercultural evenings. I especially enjoyed the creative and relaxed atmosphere, where everyone was encouraged to contribute and express themselves. The city exploration and free-time games were also very memorable, as they allowed us to bond naturally and enjoy cultural exchange in an informal way.

This experience helped me improve my teamwork skills, become more open-minded, and better understand cultural differences and similarities. I also gained new friendships and more confidence in communicating with others in international environments.

Overall, this exchange was both educational and enjoyable, and it left me with valuable memories and personal growth that I will carry forward.

  1. Testimonial:

I had a great experience with this project. The organizers and everyone were helpful, and I improved my English a lot as well as my communication skills and teamwork also. Additionally, I recognized a lot about the other cultures, it was a great experience!

  1. Testimonial:

I was very excited when they told me that I got accepted to join this project because of two things: the place and the topic. And they didn't disappoint! The location was more than amazing; it had endless green nature to walk in, fresh air, and most of all, the stars at night! The topic itself taught us to get creative as a team, communicate, and understand each other's points of view. I played games I have never played in my life, and I loved most of them-even if I couldn't quite wrap my head around a few! In the end, it was one of the best Erasmus+ projects I have ever been to. It covered every aspect: the topic, the people, the organization, the place, and the food!

  1. Testimonial:

This is my first Erasmus+ project and it was unforgettable. During the program, I met amazing people and made meaningful friendships. We exchanged ideas, shared our perspectives, and learned about each other’s cultures in a very interactive way. One of the most interesting parts was discovering how games vary across countries. I really enjoyed trying out a wide variety of games. It wasn’t just about having fun (which we definitely did), but also about learning how to adapt to different rules, strategies, and team dynamics. This project showed me that games are more than just entertainment, they are a powerful tool to bring people together, break language barriers, and build understanding between cultures. I’m grateful for every moment, every game, and every person I met along the way.

Reading these testimonials reminds us why international youth exchanges matter so much. Beyond the workshops and activities, projects like this create opportunities for connection, confidence-building, cultural understanding, and lifelong memories. We are grateful to everyone who participated, contributed their energy and openness, and helped make this experience so special!
