United Against Physical Inactivity (UNAPI)
2016 June 20-28 June 2016
United Against Physical Inactivity is a joint initiative of European youth and sports organizations aiming to combat low physical activity rates and sedentary lifestyles of young Europeans. The main objective of the project is to raise awareness of the importance of healthy and active living and to encourage young adults to do more sport in their everyday life.
As the main activity of the project, a 9 days-long youth exchange will be realized in June 2016, in the surroundings of the Danube Bend which offers various sport and outdoor activities for all. A total of 40 participants (4+1 from each country), aged between 18 and 25, will discover together the benefits of regular physical exercise by learning and practicing new sports. The target group of UNAPI involves young people who are motivated to make a change in their lives and local communities.
The program of the youth exchange is based on active participation. Participants will develop key competencies which help them to become advocates of healthy and active living. Besides acquiring knowledge on Health Enhancing Physical Activity (HEPA) and healthy eating habits, they will implement the theory into practice by planning and organizing sports activities for each other. Through non-formal learning methods, we would also like to promote volunteering among them.
