EventVision
20 to 26 October 2025
From 20 to 26 October 2025, the Erasmus+ funded "EventVision” sports staff mobility project was successfully delivered in Valencia, Spain. Organized by Budapest Association for International Sports and hosted by Sanus Vitae, the project provided a hands-on learning environment where participants could observe, practice, and reflect on effective methods used by leading sports clubs, universities, and community organizations.
The initiative aimed to empower BAIS staff and volunteers with the skills and knowledge needed to organize environmentally friendly sports events while strengthening their professional competencies in event operations, volunteer management, sustainability, and community sport development. The overarching goal was to equip participants with practical tools they can bring back to their communities in Hungary, promoting environmental awareness and inclusive participation through sport.

Throughout the week, participants engaged in a rich program that included on-site facility visits, interactive workshops, peer-learning sessions, and team-building activities that fostered cooperation and adaptability. Self-organized sporting events - such as rafting, padel, biking, and running - combined enjoyable physical activity with environmental education and reflective learning.

A key aspect of the EventVision project was the opportunity to learn directly from local sports organizations based in Valencia. Participants visited Sport City Padel and the Municipal Sports Center, where they observed coaching methodologies, athlete-coach ratios, equipment management, and multi-sport facility design. Through direct interaction with local coaches, they experienced concise cueing techniques, session-planning strategies, and efficient drill-based learning. These job-shadowing experiences offered an in-depth look into the operational structures and daily routines of professional sports clubs.

A full day was spent at the Catholic University of Valencia, where participants explored how the institution organizes its extensive volunteer and sports programs. They learned about governance systems, onboarding and buddy programs, role structuring, and project modalities, complemented by a guided campus tour.

Additionally, the group attended the European Sport Platform 2025 in Barcelona, expanding their understanding of broader trends in grassroots sport, volunteer engagement, sustainability standards, and social inclusion at the European level.

Another key highlight was volunteering at the Valencia Half Marathon. Participants contributed to role allocation, start-finish setup, route marking, hydration and food stations, and on-site coordination. This real-world experience enhanced their understanding of event logistics, communication flows, and volunteer teamwork under time-sensitive conditions.
The mobility produced valuable learning outcomes across several key areas. Participants gained practical knowledge in sustainability practices, including effective waste sorting, low-carbon logistics, simple “green clauses” for vendors, and basic event metrics such as waste per participant, reuse rates, and active-travel share. Further learning focused on volunteer systems - targeted outreach, short onboarding paired with a buddy system and recognition tools - as well as communication strategies. Exposure to university-based volunteer structures provided an additional model for long-term community engagement.
